Atlas shingles are asphalt roofing shingles made by Atlas Roofing Corporation and sold in Charlotte through certified contractors. Top Flight Contracting is an AtlasPRO+ contractor, which lets us register the Signature Select PRO 25 warranty on qualifying roofs: 25-year workmanship coverage and a 50-year non-prorated period on a lifetime limited warranty.
Atlas now sits alongside CertainTeed as a shingle line we install across Charlotte, Huntersville, Waxhaw, Mooresville and the surrounding metro. Four Atlas products qualify for PRO 25: Pinnacle Pristine, Pinnacle Impact, Pinnacle Sun and StormMaster Shake. ProLam, the value line, does not, and the rest of this page is honest about where that line sits.
AtlasPRO+ is the contractor tier that makes Signature Select PRO 25 available on your roof at all. The difference that matters is who stands behind the work: under PRO 25, Atlas backs both the product and the 25-year workmanship coverage. A contractor-only workmanship promise is worth exactly what that contractor is worth in year twelve.
Signature Select PRO 25 is written as a lifetime limited warranty on the shingle, with a 50-year non-prorated period. Non-prorated means full value, not a depreciated share, for that entire period.
Workmanship coverage runs 25 years and is registered with Atlas, not held by us alone. That is the piece most homeowners assume they have and usually do not.
PRO 25 carries wind coverage to 130 mph across the Pinnacle line and 150 mph on StormMaster Shake, plus lifetime algae resistance on qualifying products.

Pick ProLam when budget leads the decision, and Pinnacle Pristine for most Charlotte homes. Choose Pinnacle Sun if your roof takes full afternoon sun. The single biggest difference is warranty: ProLam caps at base Signature Select with no workmanship coverage, while both Pinnacle lines qualify for Signature Select PRO 25.

ProLam is the Atlas value line: an architectural shingle with real texture and shadow lines, built-in algae resistance, Class 3 impact resistance, and wind protection up to 130 mph. Be clear on the tradeoff before you sign. ProLam does not qualify for Signature Select PRO 25.
ProLam caps at base Signature Select. That means a 15-year non-prorated period, wind coverage of 110 or 130 mph depending on installation, 10-year algae resistance, and no workmanship coverage from Atlas at all. For a rental, a flip, or a roof you expect to hand off before the next decade is out, that can be the right economics. For a house you plan to stay in, step up to a Pinnacle line and take the workmanship coverage.
Pinnacle Pristine is the Atlas flagship architectural shingle and the one we install most often in Charlotte. It carries 3M Scotchgard Protector, Class 3 impact resistance, a 130 mph wind warranty, and full eligibility for Signature Select PRO 25 with its 25-year workmanship coverage.
Humidity is the reason the Scotchgard piece matters here. Gloeocapsa magma, the algae behind the black streaks you see all over the Piedmont, thrives in exactly the warm, damp summers Charlotte gets. Scotchgard Protector works through copper-containing granules made with a porous ceramic coating that releases copper ions slowly over the life of the roof, which is what keeps the streaking from taking hold in the first place. Pinnacle Pristine is also FORTIFIED Roof ready and comes in thirteen nationally available colors.
Reflective shingles return more of the sun's energy to the sky instead of passing it down into the attic, which reduces cooling load on hot Charlotte afternoons. Pinnacle Sun uses 3M Cool Roofing Granules and is produced to meet Cool Roof Rating Council standards for Solar Reflectance Index, reaching SRI up to 25 depending on the color you choose.
Charlotte summers routinely push heat indexes past 100 degrees, and a west-facing roof plane takes that load for hours. The higher the SRI number, the cooler the surface under the same sun. Actual savings depend on your attic ventilation, insulation, HVAC system and how the house is shaded, so we will not promise you a percentage off your power bill. Pinnacle Sun also carries 3M Scotchgard Protector, Class 3 impact resistance, a 130 mph wind warranty, 3M Smog-Reducing Granules, and full Signature Select PRO 25 eligibility.
StormMaster Shake. It is the Atlas impact-rated shingle, built on Core4 polymer modified technology, carrying a Class 4 impact rating and 150 mph wind resistance. Class 4 is the top impact classification, and Atlas notes it may help homeowners save on insurance premiums. StormMaster Shake is available by special order.
Discounts for impact-resistant roofs vary by carrier and by policy, so ask your own insurer what they credit before you build the decision around it. On the roof itself, Core4 is the Atlas polymer modified asphalt core, and StormMaster Shake also carries Class A fire resistance, 3M Scotchgard Protector, 3M Smog-Reducing Technology, and full Signature Select PRO 25 eligibility with wind coverage at 150 mph. If you have already had a hail claim in Charlotte, this is the line worth a conversation.
